GLENVILLE-Thomas Day, 84, of Glenville, NY passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Fulton Center for Rehabilitation, Gloversville. Mr. Day was born and raised in Bay Shore, New York the son of the late Charles M. and Lillian Locke Day. He has resided in Glenville for the past twelve years, moving from Long Island. A veteran of the US Army, he served in the Korean War. Mr. Day retired as a case worker for the Central Islip Psychiatric Center in Long Island. He was a former commander of the Charles R. Day VFW in Bay Shore, Long Island, a District Deputy Grandmaster (Emeritus) Prince Hall Masonic Order and a Past Patron of Carver Chapter 65 OES.
Mr. Day is survived by his wife of 59 years RoseMarie (Garrison) Day, his son Charles Day (Adrienne) and by his granddaughters Breanna and Jasmine Day. He is also survived by a brother Robert Day, brother-in- law Luther Garrison, Jr. (Dorothy) and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Day was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at St. George's Episcopal Church, 912 Route 146, Clifton Park, New York with The Reverend John W. Henry II officiating.
Interment will be at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the George Biddle Kelley Education Fund, P.O. Box 14692, Albany, NY 12212 in memory of Mr. Day.
