Latham- Thomas R. DeSeve, 62, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 with his loving wife Cathy at his side. Thomas was the son of the late William and Lillian DeSeve. Tom and Cathy shared 32 wonderful years together.
Tom was employed by Capital District Psychiatric Center in Albany, NY as a Sergeant for 36 years retiring in 2016. He was an advocate for the mentally challenged and those in need and was well respected by the patients and staff. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed golf, vacationing in Maine and at Cronin's Country Club in the summer. Tom was a friend to many, most called him "Tosh." He had a wonderful sense of humor, often finding humor and laughter in the most mundane life circumstances. He enjoyed the Racino, the 19th Hole at the golf course, sharing a beer and stories with the guys at the "Polish Club." He loved exploring and ghost hunting. His favorite pastime was traveling with "Chief" his beloved dog in his pimped out Hyundai. Tom would often say, "Live your life fully, don't waste a single day. Be happy, cherish those you love. Keep your friends and loved ones close." He was a wonderful husband, brother and friend.
Tom is survived by his loving wife and best friend Cathy; his beloved pup "The Chief;" and his brothers, Joe (Diane), William and Johnny; brother-in-law, David Baer and sister-in-law, Susan and his many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Tom (Mary) Burns, Mike (Theresa) Burns, and Joe Burns. His sisters-in-law, Sally (Jimmy) Machanski and Marybeth (Glenn) Mincielli and Annie Rutzel.
Tom is predeceased by his parents William and Lillian DeSeve; his brother, Kevin and sister, Judy; as well as his sister-in-law, Erna; nephews, Billy and Michael and brother-in-law, Danny.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, on Friday March 25, 2022 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 4:00 pm.
