Thomas F. Angillo (Angelo)

SCHENECTADY-Thomas F. Angillo (Angelo), 93, WWII Air force Veteran died December 3, 2014 at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Thomas was born in Southington, CT. His family moved to Amsterdam, NY and he completed his education in the Amsterdam School system. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in 1942. He retired from the Golub Corporation as a pricing specialist. He formerly was an insurance broker and was an Allstate Insurance Agent. He served two and one half years in England with the 8th Air Force Group; the 96th Heavy Bomb (B-17's) was awarded several medals and two Presidential Citations. He also received NY State Medal for Merit and NYS States Conspicuous Service Star. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 701 in Amsterdam, NY. He was a member of the 96th Bomb Group Association.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris K. Angillo and one daughter Sheri E. Angillo formerly of Rocky Hill, CT. He is also survived by one brother Robert Angelo of Scotia, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents Mary and Lawrence Angelo; by a daughter Lori K. Angillo; by four brothers Joseph, Larry, James and Gerald and by his twin sister Evelyn and sisters Kathleen and Eileen.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
