Colonie- Thomas F. Dudley, 68, formerly of Poestenkill, Passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Troy and was predeceased by his parents Frank T. and Anna E. (O'Neil) Dudley and his brother William Dudley. Tom grew up in Troy and attended Troy Schools. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. Tom worked as a truck driver all his life and worked for Georgia Pacific Corp for 25 years. Tom was a Master Bow Hunter and a Pistol Instructor for NYS. He also enjoyed carpentry and building.
Tom is survived by his wife and best friend Barbara (Carden) Dudley. He is father to Gail Weiglhofer of Colonie, Chuck (Trisha) Leibach of Poestenkill, Frank Dudley, Edward (Coleen) Leibach and Barbara Nadeau all of Troy. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, his brother Robert (Mary K) Dudley of Saratoga Springs and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom will be sadly missed by his little buddy Brutus who was always at his side.
The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the nurses at Samaritan Hospital 4th Floor especially Sally Walston, the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, for making his final transition comfortable and a special thanks to the Rubin Dialysis Center for the wonderful care for the last 7 years. The family would also like to extend a very special thank you also to Dr. Paul Menge, Dr. Leslie Goldstein, Dr. Aurora and Joanne Monahan for the wonderful care throughout the years.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. At the request of the family no flowers are to be sent. Instead memorial contributions may be made to the Rubin Dialysis Center, 1850 Peoples Avenue, Troy, NY 12180 or to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Thomas F.
