Thomas E. Friss

COLONIE- Thomas E. Friss, age 57, passed away suddenly on April 14, 2025.

He was born in Hudson, NY, the son of the late Robert E. Friss and Lorraine Friss. He was also predeceased by his grandparents, Earl and Mildred Friss and William and Grace Schumann.

Tom was a proud member of the Colonie Little League and part of the 1980 NYS Champs. He loved being outdoors. In the winter he enjoyed snowmobiling and in the summer he was outside on the deck with a Labatts Blue Light in his hand with his music cranked high. He excelled as a left handed hitter with the Amsterdam Fast Pitch Softball League. He was also the life of any party. He would brighten up the room wherever he went.

After working several years in the building material industry, he finally felt valued and appreciated with his employment with Curtis Lumber in Ballston Spa as an Operations Specialist. He considered all of his coworkers to be part of his family.

He is survived by his long term partner of 17 years, Michele Gordon; children: Thomas Friss (Ty), Taylor Rosa (Michael), Christopher and Hunter; brothers: Mark (Carolyn) Friss, Scott (Debi) Friss, and Robert Friss Jr.; nieces and nephews: Brandon, Michelina, Cameron, Connor, Braeden, Paige and Kimberly; and grandson, Asher and his beloved little 4 legged best friend, Rocky.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Saturday April 26, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205.
