LATHAM – Thomas G. Harlan, 79, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Hospice unit at the Stratton VA Medical Center. Born in Jersey Shore, PA, he was the son of the late Rebecca and George Harlan.
Tom was a devoted son and brother. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers' Union for many years. Tom was also Co-owner of Alpine Roofing Company in Latham before retiring. He was an outdoor person who enjoyed hunting and fishing. After retirement, Tom liked sitting in his yard watching the birds and squirrels. He liked most living creatures, especially birds.
Tom was recently predeceased by his brother, Richard Harlan.
He is survived by his brother, Jack (Ruth) Harlan of Colorado and sister Bonnie Swatling Gibson of Halfmoon; His cousins, nieces, nephews, and friend and caregiver, Mary Skopayko, also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, 303 Sand Creek Rd, Colonie.
