COLONIE – Thomas J. Henry, 66, of Colonie, died on Saturday January 28, 2005 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Jeannette, PA and was the son of the late Clark W. and Grace E. Barras Henry.
Tom was a 1957 graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. He served in the US Army from 1960 through 1963. Tom has been a Colonie resident for many years. He was a machinist at the Times Union newspapers for 39 years, retiring in 2003. He was a sports enthusiast and had played in the Albany Twilight Baseball League. He was an avid outdoorsman.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Linda Papa Henry; his three devoted daughters Debra (Robert) Ogren, Deanna (Scott) Shapiro and Dawn (Mark) Thomas. He is the brother of Clark W. (Alice) Henry and Greg M. Henry. He is the cherished grandfather of Kyle and Kassidy Ogren, Deanna and Hannah Thomas and Zachary and Jacob Shapiro. He is the uncle of Alison and Scott Henry. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 11:00 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
