Thomas E. Holloway, 73 of Cohoes passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born in Chattanooga, TN on January 10, 1946 the son of Bennie Morris Holloway and Olivine (Taylor) Phillips.
He was raised by his mother and stepfather, John Phillips. He has three siblings, Diane Reed, Rick Phillips and the late Carolyn Farmer.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army.
Following the military, he came to New York to visit an Army buddy, Greg Carey where he met the love of his life Carol Ann (Chops). The two fell in love, married and built a beautiful family together. Just recently celebrated 50 years of marriage that produced three wonderful children.
Tom was an amazing individual, a hard worker and a jack of all trades who loved his family, friends and his dogs. He enjoyed many hours cruising on his boat while fishing on the Mohawk River.
Tom's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center and Community Hospice for the dedicated care given to Tom during his illness.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann of Cohoes, two daughters, Julie Ann Decker and Norma Jean Sheehy (Jason) and son Eugene Thomas Holloway (Melanie). Tom is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday November 4, 2019 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Old Loudon Road, Latham. Committal will be private at Gerald BH Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-9959
