Thomas J. Latorra

COLONIE – Thomas J. Latorra, 89, formerly of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 7, 2012 at the Inn of Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital.
He was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Latorra. Tom had worked for General Electric Company for a short time and then worked for 38 years with the Canteen Corporation, retiring in 1979. He was a former member of the Colonie Elks and Stanford Heights Fire Department. Tom enjoyed spending his winters in Stuart and Ft. Pierce, Florida. He was predeceased in 1999 by his beloved wife of 48 years, Angela Leone Latorra.
He is the devoted father of Patricia (Peter) Menditto of Westerlo. He is the cherished grandfather of Andrew and Valerie Menditto. Tom is the brother of the late Louis and Harry Latorra. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 8:15 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens.
