Our Good Lord took our Dad, Thomas J. Nicholson Jr, into His palm, Monday 30th Sept 2013. His steadfast Capital District life began on 14th March 1928, graduating Cathedral High School in Albany and Russell Sage College in Troy. After multiple awards and an honorable discharge as a proud Navy Corpsman from our US Navy during the Korean Conflict, he used his Nursing Degree to heal fellow military men and women at VA Hospital, Albany. Dad retired with 34 years of dedicated service. His full life included volunteering as Scouting, Little League, Babe Ruth, Boy's Club coach/ referee, leading his sons. He spent four decades camping at Hidden Pond and was a board member at 5 Rivers Limited with his grandchildren. Dad won many blue ribbons for his plants at the Altamont Fairgrounds. He had a season seat and was trivia contributor at Heritage Park.
He and Pat, married 56 years, are parishioners 54 years at St. Paul the Apostle Church. They enjoyed travelling especially Arizona, Virginia, Maine and Canada. They resided at Ingersoll Place, Niskayuna.
Survived by his wife Patricia Ellen (Marvell); daughter Tricia; sons Thomas III, Steven (Linda), Christopher (Cynthia), William (Lori) and David (Aline); 10 wonderful grandchildren and brother Daniel (Mary).
He was predeceased by parents Doretta (Sammon) and Thomas J. Nicholson Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany Street, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
