Albany- Thomas J. South, 59, passed away at the Ann Lee Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 13, 2007. Born in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late Jesse South, Sr. and Mary Carrozza South. Formerly of Fifth Avenue in Schenectady, Tom was employed at the Navy Depot in Scotia for 30 years. Tom is predeceased by his brothers Vincent and Jesse, Jr., and his sisters Gloria and Marlene.
Tom is survived by his wife of 10 years Nina Venturiello-South, his son Angelo South, his step-children, Maria and Bobby Venturiello, his brother Raymond South and his wife Rosanne, his sister Jenny South and her son Danyell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.newcomerfamily.com.
