Thomas Jones Jr.

Thomas Jones Jr., also lovingly known as Tommy or June, passed away on September 1, 2018 at his home in Antioch, Tennessee. Thomas was born on September 11, 1946 in Albany, N.Y. to the late Deacon Thomas E. Jones Sr. and Deaconess Frankie Mae (Copeland) Jones.

Thomas was Educated in the Albany Public School System. At the age of 17, Thomas worked for the Dargan Pharmacy on North Swan Street in Albany, N.Y. with his younger brother Jimmy. Thomas entered Hudson Valley Community College in Troy N.Y. on September 11, 1964 where he received an Associate Degree in Construction on June 22, 1966. On December 18, 1968, Thomas was drafted into the United States Army serving 4 years, where he recived the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert Rifle. Thomas was Honorably Discharged on December 1, 1972. After his discharge,, Thomas worked for the Honeywell and Barrows Business Machine Company. In 1979, Thomas graduated from Wayne State School of Business in Michigan with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. Thomas also worked for Unisys Technology Company in Michigan, and then for the Nissan Automotive Manufacturing Company in Tennessee as a Human Resource Manager until his retirement. Thomas was a former member of Bethany Baptist Church in Albany, N.Y for many years.

Thomas had a love for his family with whom he loved to travel. In Thomas' younger years, he enjoyed playing chess with his friends. Thomas learned to play the trumpet. Thomas had a love for photography. He had his camera ready to capture special moments to share with his family. Thomas had impeccable cursive ink fountain and calligraphy writing skills. Thomas had a passion for clothes shopping, always wanting to look his best.

Thomas leaves to cherish his life: Brother, Jimmy (Mary) Jones of Schenectady, N.Y.; Sister-in-Law, Claudette Sims of Albany, N.Y.; Nieces, Lisa A. Foulks of Albany, N.Y., Yvette R. (Robert) Jackson of Michigan; Great Niece, Omnike "Neke" Jackson and Great Nephew, Na' Thaniel T. Jones; Uncle, Jake Copeland of Gary, Indiana; Uncle, Joseph Copeland of California; His Best friend, Michael Cowan of Albany, N.Y. and a hose of other nieces, nephews, cousins and Friends.

Thomas was predeceased in death by Brother, Earl Sims, Sister, Linda Mae Jones, Niece, Bernadette Jones, Nephew, Lawrence Jones, Uncle, Jewel Love, Aunt, Grace Love, Aunt, Mattied B. Bowen, Uncle, Douglas Adams, and many other loved ones who have gone on to Glory.
