Voorheesville- Heaven couldn't' wait!!!! A few days shy of his 90th birthday, heaven was blessed with a new resident, Thomas E. Kieper. To know Tom was to LOVE him and a blessing! He was also a very eloquent writer – especially to the ones he loved, he wrote special notes using the letters of their name– he was a master at poems and letters. This will not do justice to his talent, but here is an attempt:
Thomas E. Kieper (Tom) went to join God and his family in heaven on Thursday, April 7, 2022 surrounded by his large loving family! Born in Oswego, NY, with his loving wife of 69 years, raised their 8 children in Voorheesville, NY. Retired from NYS OGS as the Director of Fleet Management and NYS Thruway Authority. They spent their retirement years residing in Loudonville, NY and Niskayuna, NY.
Husband for 69 glorious years to the love of his life, Viola "Honey" (Diehl) Kieper. Proud Father to his 8 children, Peggy Laduke (Dale), Judy Moak (Bruce), Kathy Taylor (Bob), Terry Comitale (John), Tom Kieper, Chris Kieper (Lisa), Patty Fusco (Andy) and so so many grandkids and great grand kids! Tom is predeceased by his son, Patrick Kieper (Aline),
Often known as "Poppy", a true gentleman, great story teller, "they don't make em' like this anymore", "the best father ever", "#1 husband", "master of the one-liners", and handsome devil"!
Much of Tom's free time was spent with his wife and children. Tom was also an avid golfer, tennis player, and for years would love to have his friends over for Friday night poker at the house.
Always there to lend a helping hand, a kind word, and a listening ear. Tom spent his life helping others whether he knew them or not. His motto: "always treat the janitor the same way as the President". It takes everyone to get the job done and they all deserve the same respect"!
Simply stated, Tom will be missed by everyone that knew him. Tom left a loving mark on this world and everyone he touched. Heaven is having a few extra laughs today listening to Tom's stories and offering his many compliments to everyone he meets.
