Thomas E. Kiesow

September 11, 1942 — January 10, 2024

On January 10, 2024, Thomas Edward Kiesow of Schenectady, NY passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. Tom was born September 11, 1942 in Hartford, CT. Tom's family relocated to Winslow, Maine where he spent his childhood on the family farm. He had many fond memories of the farm and spoke of them often. After graduating from Winslow High School in 1961, Tom continued his education at Colby College in Waterville, Maine where he earned a bachelor's degree in business in 1965.

Tom spent many years as a manager with Sears, Roebuck, and Company. After numerous transfers, he settled in Schenectady, NY and decided on a career change into real estate, starting in sales and ending as an Appraiser.

Tom enjoyed visiting coastal Maine, photography, the outdoors, reading, and his crossword puzzles. He'll surely be remembered for his "dad" jokes.

Tom was predeceased by his loving parents, Frederick and Gloria, his sister, Carol Christopher, and his brother Frederick. Surviving are Tom's brothers Walter Kiesow (Bea) of Winslow, Maine; Kim Kiesow (Nancy) of Garner, NC; wife Maggie Ruckman Kiesow of Schenectady, NY; his five children; Thomas Kiesow (Kathy) of Rolesville, NC, Chad Kiesow (Jackie) of Wilton, NY, Kristen Kiesow of Frankfort, NY, Mandy Tobin (Rich) of Rotterdam Junction, NY, Matthew Kiesow (Kate) of Glenville, NY. Also his nine grandchildren, Connor, Justin, Marshall, Jacob, Lillian, Charles, Liesl, Emily, and Wesley.

Thank you to the staff of the 4th floor at the Teresian House in Albany for making Tom's last days so comfortable. Per Tom's wishes, there will be a service in Maine for the family at a later date.
