COLONIE – Zdzislaw Thomas Krajewski, 93, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Antoni and Stefania Krajewski. Tom was a US Army veteran serving in the European Theater during World War II. He worked for New York Central Railroad,Amtrak and Contrail for 38 years before he retired. Tom was a life-long member of Blessed Virgin Mary Czestochowa Catholic Church where he was the oldest parishioner. He was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192, the J.E. Zaloga American Legion Post, Polish American Citizens Club (PACC) and the Herbert Kuehn Senior Citizens Center. For many years Tom volunteered his time as a bingo worker at the Colonie Elks, Zaloga Post and the B. V. M. C. Church. Tom enjoyed playing golf and bowling in the senior league at Sunset Lanes. He was an avid Yankee fan and dressed as a disgruntled Yankee fan for Halloween. Tom's favorite pastimes were reading, traveling and talking. He never lacked for conversation often saying "I'm a man of few words, it just takes me awhile to say it." Tom cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he adored, and was happiest when attending any activity that they were involved in.
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary A. Krajewski and his siblings, Henry, Zygmund, Raymond, Stella, Sabena and Genevieve. Tom is survived by his children: Mary Ellen (Richard) Cadalso of Albany and Thomas A. (Michele) Krajewski of Voorheesville. He is the cherished grandfather of Cher Marie (Gregory) Basnight of Greenville, NC, Thomas A. (Tanya) Krajewski II of Tampa, FL, John T. (Lisa) Krajewski of Albany and David M. (Hae-Sun Chung) Cadalso of East Greenbush. Tom is the loving great-grandfather of Thomas A. Krajewski III, Grace Krajewski of Tampa, FL and Sophia R. Krajewski of Albany. Also surviving is his nephew, Floyd T. LaGoy who considered "Unk" a second father, his best friend and golfing buddy, Thomas Sullivan and his "grand dogs" Rusty and Tonka.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Blessed Virgin Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church, 250 Maxwell Road, Latham, NY 12210 in memory of Thomas Krajewski.
