East Greenbush- Thomas M. Kendall, 55, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at home, surrounded by family and friends, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Niskayuna and residing most of his life in Colonie he is the son of Virginia Kendall and the late James L. Kendall. Tom was a graduate of Colonie High School Class of 1970. He was the owner and operator of Sky Auto Sales in Albany for over 30 years. He will be greatly missed at the Manheim Auto Auctions (Northway Auto Exchange and the Newburgh Auto Auction). Tom was a member of the Nassau Sportsman Club and the W.K.A. (World Karting Association) with his entire family and was a recipient of the 2006 W.K.A Briggs and Stratton Family of the Year Award. He was a caring and loving father, husband, brother and friend. Tom enjoyed riding his Harley's, he was an avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling with his wife and daughter to numerous go-karting events to support his sons racing career. Tom always lived life for his family and work.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years Linda (LeMon) Kendall of East Greenbush, his cherished children; Ryan and Kacie Kendall both of East Greenbush, his beloved beagle Jake, his brothers; William Kendall and Richard (Holly) Kendall both of Colonie, his brother-in-law Tom Dulin, his half brothers; Douglas, James, Keith, Bruce, and Gary Kendall and their families. He is also survived by his special nieces and nephews; Danielle (Dan) Lucarelli, Amanda (Brian) Vennard, Thomas Boshea (Rebecca Williams), Chelsea K. Dulin, Jamie, Jesse, Jason and Sarah Kendall, Lishelle, Kendon and Tiffany Fazzone and Colby Kendall, his dear friends who were his extended family; Ira Dorsey, John Torre, Jeff Hunt and Joe Connell and his business associate and friend Mark Casey. He is predeceased by his sister Pamela Dulin.
The family would like to extend a special and sincere thank you to all the many close and personal friends who were by Tom's side throughout the years and especially to those who were there during the last few months of his illness. A special thank you to Dr. Oberheim and his staff for 25 years of support and treatment during Tom's illness. They also like to thank the Nurses and Dr. Arsenau at N.Y.O.H., and the Community Hospice of Rensselaer staff for all the love and support given to them at this most difficult time.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 AM at the First Church in Albany, 110 N. Pearl Street, Albany. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.).
