Thomas G. Martin

Thomas G. Martin, of Voorheesville, NY, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on November 8, 2023.
The son of the late John and Sarah Martin, he was born July 26, 1937 in Elizabeth, NJ.
He was predeceased by his infant daughter Kathleen Ann, sister Mary Clark, brother Donald Martin, sister Patsy McDougall and grandson Ryan Connelly.
Tom was survived by his wife, Edie, his brother, John B. Martin, his daughter Patty (Craig) Ratchford, sons John (Sara) Martin, Thomas (Kristin Connelly) Martin as well as grandchildren Ryan, Shannon, Sean and Kaitlyn Ratchford and Molly and Timothy Martin.
He served in the US Army before joining the New York State Troopers in 1962. He had a 27 year career before retiring as a Senior Investigator in Guilderland, NY (Troop G).
Throughout his life he enjoyed playing tennis and fishing on Lake George and Sylvia Lake.
Tom and Edie recently celebrated 60 years of their loving and happy marriage.
Tom (Pop) will be remembered as a loving family man and for his sense of humor and great story telling. He never missed a chance to root against the NY Yankees, having never recovered from the Brooklyn Dodgers leaving NY.
Private Funeral Services will be held by the family.
