Thomas Mccarthy

ALBANY-Thomas A. McCarthy passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Stratton VA Medical Center. He was born in Newark, NJ and grew up in the NYC area. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. Mr. McCarthy taught in Rochester as a music teacher and has resided in Albany for the past 15 years. Music was his first love and also a huge part of his life. He was a musician, having played in Las Vegas with various accomplished musicians. He is survived by his grandson, Thomas M. (Kristen) Townsend, of Altamont and his twin great granddaughters, Raegan Cynthia and Olivia Mae. Mr. McCarthy was predeceased by his daughter, Karen McCarthy.
A committal service will be held at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 3:00 PM.
