Thomas M. "Tom" Mcguire Sr.

Thomas M. McGuire Sr., 73, passed away at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany NY on July 14, 2024. Survived by his wife Sharon L. (Rickert) McGuire.

Born February 15, 1951, in Albany NY, he was the son of the late James Joseph and Marion Louise (Laraway) McGuire.

Thomas attended and graduated from Albany High School and later joined the Plumbers & Steamfitters Union Local 7 in March 1974 until he retired in 2006, at which time he worked for the Guilderland School District as a Bus Driver for an additional seven years before fully retiring.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his son Thomas Jr., and his wife Casey Ferguson of Cambridge, and Grand son Quinn Thomas Glenn McGuire.

Tom was a true family man, he cared deeply for his parents, brothers, sisters and all the nieces and nephews. He cherished his son and Casey, but the one who put the twinkle in his eyes was his grandson Quinn, what a joy.

He is also survived by his sister Judy Ganoe and brother Richard McGuire. Along with several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Barbara Carroll, Elizabeth Halpin and Kathy Skorupski; brothers, James and John McGuire.

Friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, July 22, 2024, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm with a service to begin at 6:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY 12205. Interment will take place on Tuesday. All are welcome to join the graveside service at 9:30am on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Please gather at 9:00am in the parking lot at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, to join the procession.
