ALBANY- Thomas F. Miller Sr., 74, passed away early Sunday morning, July 23, 2017, with his loving wife Christina by his side.
Tom was born in Albany, NY on January 30, 1943, to the late Howard and Loretta Miller. He was raised on Eagle Street in Albany. Tom proudly served as a Police Officer for the city of Albany for 29 years, retiring in 1992.
During his retirement, Tom enjoyed traveling to his favorite vacation spots, Wildwood Beach, NJ as well as many other ocean destinations and Adirondack lakes.
Jilly was his much loved cockatiel of 22 years who brought Tom tremendous joy. He was active and happy attending his grandchildren's many school activities.
Tom is survived by his wife Christina, his brother Gerald, and his wife, Antonia Miller, his children Donna (Bill) Roner, Janice (John) Miller Whitney, Thomas (Barbara) Miller, Jr., Mary (Michael Bowles) Davis, his step-children, Michael (Mary) Yuhasz and Michelle (Rocco) Piluso.
Tom loved all of his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with James Roner, Cassandra McFarland, Jonathan and Samuel Maurice, Patrick and Colin Miller Whitney, Justin, Christopher and Faith Miller, Karianne and Benjamin Davis, Maddie and Caleb Yuhasz, and James, David, Leo, Jack and Juliette Piluso as well as his great grandchildren, Allie, Aidan and Colby McFarland and Austin Davis.
Tom continued to share a friendship with the mother of his children, Sandra (Aussicker) Miller.
The family would like to especially thank Hospice, Jessica Roberts and granddaughter, Karianne for their loving care of Tom at home.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205, on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 am. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's memory may be made to the Hospice Gateway House of Peace, 479 Rowland St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020
