Thomas P. Mooney, 77, died December 28, 2018, at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness and surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Albany, he was the son of Patricia and Robert Mooney. He was a self-employed painting contractor in the Capital District for 40 years. Tom was an animal lover, and enjoyed the company of his cats, and previously, his beloved German shepherds. He cherished time spent with his granddaughter, Jennifer, and was affectionately called "B-Pa."
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Susan (Kuhl) Mooney; daughters Bonnie Mooney (Ray Phillips), Gloria Jordan, and Gail Mooney; his special granddaughter Jennifer Phillips, and also eight other surviving grandchildren, his brothers Michael and Robert Mooney. He is also survived by his special niece, Patricia Mulvena (Mark), and his closest friend, Fred Chamberlain. He was predeceased by his parents.
Relatives and friends may call 4-6 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, where a time to share memories will be held at 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
