ALBANY - Thomas Paul Ragone, 93, of Albany, NY beloved husband of Victoria E. Mirabile, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2013 at Hero's Way, Veterans Administration Hospice. He was the son of the late Mariano and Francis Ragone.
Thomas married Victoria E. Mirabile on September 5, 1943, and they cherished 70 years of marriage.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army, 7th Armored Division 40th Tank Battalion during World War II. Major achievements include storming Normandy Utah Beach, Liberation of Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp and survival of the Battle of the Bulge. He celebrated a reunion each year with the 7th Armored Division traveling to many states and countries.
Following Tom's retirement from Boyd's Printing Company, he worked at his son's printing company until the age of 90. He especially enjoyed winter in Florida and spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his wife, Victoria and his loving children Judith A. Guthrie (Duane) Saratoga Springs, NY, Kristina Brennan (Wally) Niskayuna, NY, Thomas P. Ragone Jr. (Joyce), Albany, NY, and his cherished grandchildren Gale Kerr (David) Gerilynn Berben (Donnie), James Guthrie (Jane) Scott Ragone (Andrea) Nicholas Ragone (Lindsay) and AJ Ragone; and his adored great-grandchildren Devyn, Reese, Chase, Jordan, Brooke, Sofia, and Tanner Thomas. Tom is predeceased by his six brothers and one sister.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday July 30th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY.
A funeral service will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 31st at 10 a.m. A military service will follow at 12 noon at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
