TROY_ Thomas R. Canam, 62, passed away following a long illness on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Albany Medical Center.
He was born on March 24, 1953 son of the late Harold and Margaret (Gavin) Canam. He worked as a truck driver and small engine mechanic for most of his life. Tom loved music, he was a talented singer and guitar player for several bands, most recently, The Majestics. Friends and family will remember Tom's Awesome Karaoke shows. He loved the outdoors, working on remote controlled airplanes and boats. Tom was the man to turn to if you needed to fix anything with a motor.
Tom is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Canam, his loving companion, Diana Nicholson, his sons, Thomas P. Canam, Joseph Canam, his daugther, Starlette Sheffield, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his sisters, Carol Coonradt and Catherine Durvage.
A memorial service to celebrate Tom's life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015, 5:00 pm at the New Comer Funeral Home. Friends are invited to call from 3 to 5pm on Friday prior to the memorial service.
