NISKAYUNA - Thomas "Red" P. Flannery, 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born on June 10, 1931 in Detroit, MI and was the son of the late Nicholas and Thelma (Krause) Flannery. He graduated from Watervliet High School and served in the US Navy Seabees. Tom enjoyed a long career with The New York Telephone Co. before retiring in 1990 as a sales manager. He enjoyed traveling but most especially, spending time with his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sally Flannery; father of Susan (Stephen) McGough, Thomas (Julie) Flannery, Michael (Lona) Flannery, Matthew (Jessie) Amico, Vincent (Debra) Amico, and the late Sandra Robinson; father-in-law of Garry (Nancy) Robinson; grandfather of Stephen (Gail) Greeley, Judd (Sara) Robinson, Kyle Flannery, Shannon Flannery, Shayla Flannery, Jenna Robinson, Jillian Robinson, Marley Amico and Madison Amico; and great-grandfather of Kiernan, Kollin, Kaylin, Rylin and Tanner. In addition to his parents, Tom is predeceased by his first wife, Doris (Kalteux) Flannery; his sister, Ruth Scott; his brother, Jack Flannery; and his feline companion, Molly.
Visitation will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Friday from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
