Guilderland- Thomas J. Reppenhagen, 78, died at home on Friday, April 08, 2005, surrounded by his family. Born in Merchantsville, NJ he was the son of the late Thomas M. and Helen Reppenhagen. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country from 1946-1948. After returning from the military he went on to work for the NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles for 35 years retiring in 1987. Thomas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who had a great love for his family. He will be dearly missed by many. He is predeceased by his brother William Reppenhagen.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Lucille Sullivan Reppenhagen, and his seven children; Mary Anne Bettcker (Robert) of East Greenbush, Thomas W. Reppenhagen (Margaret) of Tyngsboro, MA, Joan Post (Bill) of Tucson, AZ, Joseph Reppenhagen (Cathy) of Guilderland, Susan Merkley (Arthur) of Guilderland, Peter Reppenhagen (Kelly) of Tully, NY, and Margaret Carle (Robert) of Ballston Spa. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 12th at the Church of Christ the King, Guilderland at . Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather on Monday, at 4:30 PM for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome. Entombment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ the King Building Fund, 20 Sumter Avenue, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Thomas J. Reppenhagen.
