With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas W. Roark Sr., 61, son of the late John and Betty Roark.
Thomas was known for his many positive qualities, some including being caring, hardworking, and dedicated to his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports, particularly, the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees. His love for sports also extended into bowling and golf when he got the chance. He also loved spending time outdoors playing cornhole and horseshoes. Through these activities, Thomas met dear friends and made many memories.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie and their two children Thomas W. (Felicia) Roark Jr. and Christina M. (Jeff) Schumaker. In addition, he is survived by his five grandchildren: Grace, Camren, Jace, Zoey, and Tanner. He is also survived by his siblings: Paul (Sharon) Roark, Frank Roark, Michael Roark, Rosemary (Craig) Jackson, David (Ruth) Roark, Robert (Kathy) Roark, and Richard Roark. As well as his sister-in-law, Ellen Roark and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Thomas is predeceased by his oldest brother, John Roark and three lifelong friends: Artie Garhartt, Greg Garhartt, and Dan McCormick.
Friends may gather on Thursday, January 23 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., 12205. Burial will be on Friday, January 24 at 9 AM at Graceland Cemetery, 680 Delaware Ave, Albany, NY 12209.
