Thomas L. Sidoti, Sr.

October 26, 1934 — April 4, 2021

As the sun rose high in the sky on the most Holiest Day of the Christian calendar, Easter Sunday, the Lord called Thomas Louis Sidoti to his banquet hall in heaven. Thomas was reunited with his parents, Bosti and Mary, and his siblings, Richard, Louis (Mary), and Bernadette.

Thomas was married to Patricia Shaheen, the love of his life for 64 years. Together they raised nine children with their unwavering love, which grew stronger through the years. Tom and Pat enjoyed traveling the world and visiting new places. Their favorite place was Florida where they could enjoy the sun and visit Disney World. Tom and Pat also enjoyed summertime activities, which included picnics at Saratoga and trips to the casinos.

As a young boy, Thomas was in the moving business, Sidoti Movers, with his father and brothers, moving many families out of the designated South Mall area of Albany helping them to relocate to various locations throughout the city. Tom was a retired teamster working for many years at Staats Express. After retirement, he worked in the Albany County Courthouse meeting many people where he loved to share stories.

Tom was also a member of the United States Navy, he served during the Korean War and spent time in Newfoundland, Canada. He also served proudly with his lifelong friend Angelo Serafino, together they were Navy and shared many experiences.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Patricia and his children: Anthony (Sandy) Sidoti, Martha (Daniel) Blechiert, Pamela (John) Kenneally, Cynthia (Joseph) Berghela, Melissa (Sergio) Garufi, Mathia (Kevin) Burke, Michael (Ann) Sidoti, Thomas (Kim) Sidoti, and Christina (Charles) Schramm. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Nicholas (Tracy), Jason (Michelle), Anthony (Lynn), Joshua (Paige), Jeremy, Christopher (Nicole), Tricia, Craige, Shawn, Michael (Kayla), Angie (Joe), Evana, Abigail, Olivia, Sydney, Michela, and Meagan.
