TROY – Thomas "Tom" J. McDonald, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 25, 2014.
Tom was born on June 12, 1964 in Troy and was the son of Richard McDonald and the late Gloria (Zyglewicz) McDonald. He graduated from Lansingburgh High School and Siena College with a Bachelor's in accounting. He was a planner for Freihofer's Bakery in Albany for 23 years. He played baseball from Lansingburgh Little League thru high school, played football from Pop Warner thru high school, was in a Dart League and was an avid fisherman and golfer.
Tom enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake George, spending quality time with his family – especially his beloved daughter Lexi, watching sports and following the financial news. He was a kind, special and generous soul who never asked for anything in return and who accepted the challenges in life that came his way. Tom will be deeply missed and his untimely passing will leave a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his father, Tom is survived by his loving daughter, Alexandra McDonald and his loving sisters, Judy (Stephen) O'Donnell and Angie (Scott Wilson) Morley. He was a very special uncle adored by Thomas Morley and Andrew and Lauren O'Donnell. He is also survived by his aunt Mary Ann (Robert) Bielawa and by his cousins Robert (Nancy) Bielawa and David (Michelle) Bielawa.
At Tom's request, services will be private. Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Latham.
