Thomas William Benjamin

Thomas William Benjamin, 56, died in the arms of his loving family on October 13, 2015 in Albany Medical Center after a long courageous battle with brain cancer.

Tom is survived by his wife of 32 years Paula Benjamin, his two children; Heidi Benjamin and James Benjamin, Siblings; Terry Reilly, Mark Benjamin and Rickena Lobdell and nieces; Ashley Reed, Marcy and Mickayla Benjamin and Samantha Lobdell. He is predeceased by his parents Richard and Anne Benjamin.

Tom was a devoted husband, father and friend. He was employed with Roofers Local 241 for 30 years. He loved working with his hands. He was a dreamer who had a beautiful imagination. No matter what project you thought up he was the man for the job. He was idolized by his children for being so driven and passionate about his hobbies and work.

He enjoyed spending time at his lake house on Cossayuna Lake. He loved the sunshine, listening to Bob Marley, cigars on the deck, fishing and his adopted cats. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd Colonie, NY. Calling hours will precede the service from 11am-2pm at the funeral home.
