LATHAM-Timothy W. Burleski, 48, of Latham, NY passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Albany Memorial Hospital following a two-year courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Albany, NY the son of Patricia Burleski and the late Donald Burleski. Timothy was employed as the Director of Audit by the NYS Department of Labor. He previously worked for the federal government at the Office of the Inspector General, KPMG Peat Marwick, Key Bank, New York Prosecutors Training Institute and CDPHP. Timothy was a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of Government Accountants and the Mohawk Hudson Cycling Club. He was an avid bicycler, gardener and master woodworker. Timothy also had a culinary degree and was a phenomenal baker. He had an incredible sense of humor, gentle soul, loved kids and they loved him the same. His greatest joy was his son Jake. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Timothy is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years Karen (Frank) Burleski and by his loving son Jake Burleski. He is also survived by his siblings Sherry Stark (George), Cindy Aubin (Keith) and Steven Burleski; mother and father-in-law Wesley and Nancy Frank; brothers-in-law Ken Frank and John Frank, nieces and nephews Sarah Stark, Russell Stark and Alina Aubin.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie with a funeral service to immediately follow at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Timothy.
