Colonie- Timothy R. Gleason, 59, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 1st 2015. Timothy was the son of the late William and Patricia Gleason. He grew up and attended school in Green Island and later moved to Crescent.
Timothy is survived by his wife Francesca (Franca) Gleason (Cioffi); daughters: Kimberly Suedkamp (Brian), Sara Cunningham (Gregory); three grandchildren; Kaitlin Suedkamp, Andrew Cunningham and Lindsay Cunningham. He is also survived by his four siblings; William, John, Kathleen, Gary, an aunt, Bernice Swinton and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
When his girls were young they loved to take trips to Great Escape, Hoffman's and vacations to Disney World. Tim was always active in his daughters' lives from sleigh riding, coaching softball, swimming in the backyard and always being there with his love and support.
Tim was a truck driver for almost 20 years. He liked to hunt and fish, competing in many fishing tournaments. After he retired, he liked to tell stories about his time on the road and became interested in stained glass. Over the years he created many beautiful pieces. He was an avid classic car enthusiast and was President of the Classic Car Club. He enjoyed showing his cars at shows, winning many awards and trophies.
During their time living in Florida for 12 years, Tim and his wife enjoyed walks at the Disney Parks and entertaining friends and family who visited from New York. They loved traveling and experiencing new places.
He was a devoted grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He looked forward to annual pumpkin carving, decorating gingerbread men and cheering them on at their soccer games.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 7th 2015 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home (343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205). A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, April 8th 2015 at St. Clare's Church at 9:00 am. Interment will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
