Tina Christensen

GUILDERLAND-Tina M. Christensen, 47 of Guilderland passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at her residence. Tina was born in Albany, NY, and the daughter of Anthony and Christine Ciccone of Guilderland. She has been a life-long resident of the Guilderland area. Receiving her Associates degree from SUNY Cobleskill, she continued on to earn her Bachelor and Masters degrees from Russell Sage College. Tina was a dedicated educator for more than a decade, beginning as a teaching assistant to her most recent role as a special education teacher for Saratoga Springs High School. She enjoyed reading, loved her pets and especially loved her family.
In addition to her parents, Tina is survived by her husband Eric Christensen of Guilderland, her sons Chad Christensen and his fiancé Megan Hopkins of Schenectady, and Matthew Christensen and his long-time girlfriend Natasha Pironi also of Schenectady. Tina also leaves behind aunts, uncles, other family, and Tess, Ginger and, Reno.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie with a funeral service to follow at 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Scotia Animal Protective Foundation in memory of Tina.
