ALBANY, NY – Todd Edward Eggert, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on April 17, 1952 and was the son of the late Ramona Frank and Philip Eggert and brother of the late Marcia Eggert and Phyllis (Fritz) Montrois. He was a graduate of St. John Fisher College in Rochester. Todd worked in the independent living movement for more than twenty years before taking a position with the Office of Children and Family Services/Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped. He is survived by his wife, Rita and two sons, Robert and his wife, Sandi and Andrew Stachowiak. Also surviving is his step-brother, John (Brenda) Frank as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 am. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Flower City Parkway, Rochester, NY. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Council of the Blind, 6300 Shingle Creek Parkway, Suite 195, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430 in memory of Todd E. Eggert.
