Rensselaer, NY — Troy C. Everett, 35, passed away suddenly on December 7, 2024 at his home in Albany, NY. Troy was born in Albany, the son of Thomas C. Everett Ill and Trina L. Roberts.
Troy enjoyed concocting his own special recipes, expressing emotions through sketching and drawing, taking walks with his niece and sisters, and listening to all genres of music. He spent a lot of time tinkering with and rebuilding electronics, was fond of fishing, having drinks by the fire, playing chess/checkers, pranking everyone, and talking on the phone with friends/family for hours on end. "Troy-Boy" found the most comfort and support in his mother's presence. Most of all, Troy loved spending time with his children.
He is survived by his parents: Thomas C. Everett III and Trina L. Roberts; siblings: Destinee "Grimace" S. Everett, Brooklynne "Brooklyn-Zoo" B. Everett, Keyana M. Hogan, Jazzlynne "Jazzy Faye" R. Vadakin, and Thomas C. Everett IV; his three children: Nevaeh "Nay" Destiny Everett, Naviana "Nu-Nu" Arie Everett, and Troy "T-Man" Channing Everett Jr., their beloved mother Shirese "Key" Cunningham, and his 'mother-in-law' Sharon Trotter-McKinney; niece Kahmyla "Mya" Brown; his nearest and dearest great-aunt Joann Marshall; aunt Tonia (Roberts) and uncle Robert "Bobby" Guyer; cousins: Dylan and Autumn Guyer; aunt Michelle Ford; cousins: Rasheem Williams, DaEisha Johnson, Abdaya (Johnson) Terry, Abdul Johnson, Jamar Ford; aunt Carol (Sutton) and uncle Barry Neal; cousins: Breyana and Qadriyyah Neal; his lifelong/closest friends: Khas "Hessa" Ganbaatar, Thomas "Tommy" Logan, Kenneth "Kenny" Plue, Felipe "Eric" Rosa, Joshua “Josh" Jevons, Nicholas "Nick" Collins, Jaide Rios, and Keyondra "Key" Bailey. An honorable mention to Larita Rainey and Michael Langone for all the mentoring and assistance they provided to Troy. He is also survived by many other friends and relatives.
Troy was predeceased by his grandparents: Sharon M. (Marshall) and Marcel W. Guesnon, Thomas H. Roberts, Sandra L. Sutton, and Thomas C. Everett; and many great-aunts/uncles, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend his calling hours on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and funeral services from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. If possible, the family asks that you wear Troy's favorite colors red and black in his honor.
To celebrate the life of Troy, a repast will follow his funeral services from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Fraternal Order of Eagles, 851 Broadway, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Troy's memory may be made to the Mental Health and Empowerment Project, 204 2nd Street, Albany, NY 12210 by check or money order and/or to the Homeless and Travelers Aid Society (HATAS) at Hatas.org/donate.
