Truman L. Onderdonk, 89, of Albany, passed away peacefully on July 10th, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the only child of Ruth and Paul T. Onderdonk.
Truman's service will be livestreamed on Monday, beginning at 6:00pm.

He graduated from Garden City High School in 1953 and continued his education with engineering studies at WPI, Hofstra, and NYU.
Truman worked for Northrop Grumman where he contributed to several key projects, including the design for elements of the first shuttle to land on the moon.
He had many personal interests through the years; realtor, deputy park ranger, Nascar mechanic, committeeman, and single-engine hobby pilot.
In his retirement, Truman found joy in home projects, supporting his family’s love of sports, and a steadfast dedication to the Westmere Fire Department, where he was recently celebrated as a Life Member with 35 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Truman was predeceased by his devoted wife of 38 years, Mary Onderdonk.
Truman is survived by his children Kim (David) Farrar, Peter Onderdonk, Christina (Steven) Stipe, Deborah (Walter) Bogdonowicz, and Frank (Monica) Finn. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Benjamin (Brittany) Farrar, Julianne (Adam) Merry, Spencer, Nora, and Mallory Stipe, Bayly and Nicholas Bogdonowicz, Baggio Finn and one great-grandson, Arthur Merry.
Visitation will take place on Monday July 15, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 6:00pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY, 12205.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Truman’s name to the Westmere Fire Department.
