Halse, Tyler R.S., 82, passed away suddenly on December 29, 2012, in Charlotte, NC, having lived a full and vibrant life.
Tyler was born in Albany, NY, to the late Raymond and Beatrice M. Halse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Halse Hewes.
Tyler graduated from Albany High School in 1948 and Siena College in 1952. He served in the National Guard for eleven years. He began a career in medicine that spanned 58 years of devoted service in laboratory and research work that included Albany Medical Center, St. Peter's Hospital, The Veteran's Administration Hospital of Albany and Northeast Memorial.
Retiring in 2009 he moved to Charlotte, NC, to be near his daughter Lauren Leet (Christopher A. Leet, Sr.) and his 3 grandchildren, Christopher A. Leet, Jr., of Kannapolis, NC, Sheryl Washburn of Charlotte, NC, and Meghan Leet of Durham, NC, and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his loving brother Sherwood M. Halse and sister-in-law Barbara Halse of Largo, FL, along with a nephew and 5 nieces.
Tyler has left a legacy to all who knew him through the value of his strength, love, the many kindnesses and support he extended to others and the importance he placed on commitment to his family, his friends, and his patients. Tyler's devotion to his faith in God Jehovah, his appreciation of music, (especially his beloved grand piano) the arts, sports, meteorology, his enduring smile and his willingness to share all these attributes, talents and knowledge have left those of us who knew and loved him with priceless memories and for that – we will be forever grateful.
