He would plant and harvest different crops, and he would rear animals such as cows, goats and pigs.
In the early 1960s he was employed to the United States of America as a seasonal farmworker. He worked assiduously on this program for over 3 decades. When he went on his assignment in the mid-1970s he decided not to return to his birth country; he made the USA his new home.

He displayed various admirable qualities. He loved and admired his entire family. He was kind, generous, loving and always willing to share with his relatives and friends. Ucal was not a talkative individual, but when he did his arguments, conversation and discussions always had substance . Whenever he is in the company of his friends and he gets a joke, he generally laughs whole heartedly. He was also a God-fearing man who loved to read his Bible, he was a prayerful soul.
While living in the US, he was privileged and blessed to have met the Lawrence family. A couple with whom he had a very long and lasting relationship. This family adopted Ucal into their household. They made him feel welcomed, treated him with great respect, cared for him in good times and in bad times and helped him navigate his way throughout his life’s journey here in the US
To the Lawrence family we must say a big Thank You. May every member of your family be abundantly blessed.
Ucal was a peaceful, Godly soul in his lifetime and He died peacefully.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
