COLONIE- V. James Aloise, 93, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 29, 1923 son of the late Ernesto and Caterina (Di Pasquale) Aloisi in Albany, NY.
Jim was a Veteran of WWII, serving his country as a medic in the U.S. Army. He was awarded the American Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, EAME Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Philippines Liberation Medal. After leaving the military he attended Siena College where he obtained his BA degree. Jim worked for many years in the insurance industry prior to his retirement from the NYS Dept. of Labor.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He enjoyed spending time at the Village of Colonie Senior Center where he played poker and visited with his friends. He loved bowling and most of all spending time with his family, with whom he cherished sharing his many stories.
Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Helen J. (Pendyke) Aloise; granddaughter, Michelle Aloise; siblings, Angelo Aloise, Victoria Farrelly, Josephine Dunham.
He is survived by his companion, Anne Lawton; children, Carol Kelley, Deborah (William) Prime, James (Deborah) Aloise; grandchildren, Lisa Kelley, Christina (Michael) Montone, Joseph Kelley, Andrea (Jacob) Stork, Alyssa Prime, Justine (Isaac Patka) Aloise, Sarah Aloise; great-grandchildren, Noah, Samuel, Joshua, Jacob, Benjamin, Gianna, Victor, Rebecca, Jackson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12205. Friends and family are invited to share condolences from 8:30-9:30am at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 prior to Mass. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
