Vanessa E. Ortiz

ALBANY-Vanessa E. Ortiz, 28, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2017.

She was born on September 14, 1989 daughter of Teri (Rios) O'Hara and Jorge Ortiz.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Patricia and Felix Rios.

Vanessa was a caring, loving and funny daughter, niece and cousin. She loved being with her family and friends and being a part of family gatherings, such as summer outings to the lake or pool, holidays and cookouts. She loved to watch football and was always so excited for the season to come around. She also loved kids and has babysat since she was very young.

This was not how her life was supposed to end, but God had other plans.

Vanessa is survived by her parents, Teri and Jorge; stepfather, Joseph Love; grandmother, Maria Cruz Colon; grandfather, Juan Ramon Ortiz; siblings, Natasha Ortiz (Alberto Ruiz), Sadie (Jordan) Shultz, Madison Love, Elijah Ortiz, Julius Ortiz;aunts and uncles, Tammy Rios, Patricia "Peanut" Rios, Felix Rios, Jr.; cousins, Sheri Medina, Selena Medina, Sabrina Medina; great-aunt, Barbara McDermott and several other cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate Vanessa's life will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10-11am prior to services.
