Vaughn A. Jacobs

ALBANY - Vaughn Jacobs was born on November 6, 1928 in Coeymans, NY, the eldest daughter of the late Thomas Lacy and Lelia Denson Lacy. She was a lifelong resident of Albany, NY. She was educated in the Albany City School District. After many years of working as a bookkeeper, she retired and spent the remainder of her years helping care for her cherished grandchildren and other close relatives. Vaughn was a strong, independent, vibrant woman who lived life to the fullest as a dedicated servant of Jehovah. At the age of 84, Vaughn's long battle with heart disease came to a peaceful end on May 7, 2013 at Albany Medical Center, where she was surrounded by loving family.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Pamela Coles of Albany, NY; four loving sons, Drake Lacy of Troy, NY, Timothy and Maurice Jacobs of Albany, NY and Thomas Jacobs (Trinette) of Melville, LA; two sisters, Antic Womack (Jimmy) and Elizabeth Claudio; four brothers, Talmadge, Reginald, Stanley and Thomas Lacy (Denyce); twelve grandchildren, Maria (Joe), Drake, Jr. (Candara), Qiana, Victor, II, Shanna, Matthew, Danielle (Jonathan), Sylvia, Joshua, Nina, James "Rico" and Mia; nine great-grandchildren, Sa-nobia, Najahry, Mary, Jahcory, Eliana, Aiden, Shianna, Yeshua "Angel" and Josia; a special friend, Josephine Faruol; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Lelia Lacy; stepmother, Matilda Lacy; husband, George Jacobs; brothers, Lawrence "Coke" Jones, Samuel "Jimmy" and David Lacy; sisters Leah Owens and Juanita Lacy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
