Veorah Mungin- McClenos, 85, of St. Paul's NC, passed away on January 26, 2022, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, in the home of her loving grand-daughter Claudia McClenos (Wine) and Timothy Knorr, where she spent her remaining days in Schenectady, NY.

Veorah, also known as "Mommo" was born on March 31, 1936, to the late Claudie and Annie-Ruth (Mclaughlin) Lewis in Red Springs, NC.

Veorah received her primary and secondary education in the Red Springs/Robeson County school districts. After which, she moved to Philadelphia, PA with her Eldest sister Rosa lee where she received her degree, certificates, and licensure in education. After completing her education, Veorah moved to Harlem (NYC) where she was employed at the New York Telephone Company as a telephone operator. She was later employed in the New York board of education system at Allan Locke Elementary school, Joan of Ark High School, after school program director at the then known West End Collegiate Church, and P911, continued education program for pregnant teens where she retired in June 2000. After retiring back to her childhood home, she was also a substitute teacher at Red Springs High School. She had an amazing teaching career that spanned over 30 years.

Veorah began her walk with the Lord as a youngster in Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Red Springs, NC. When she moved to NYC, she was invited to Holy Ghost Pentecostal Faith Church by the late Mother Lavonia Smith and Mother Lumisha Bonner, both of whom she called her spiritual mothers and have on many occasions credited them for as she would put it, instilling in her Holy Boldness! As she continued to walk in her faith, she was known to have a passion for gleaning, mentoring, singing, missionary work and being a prayer Warrior. Often having weekly services in hospitals and nursing homes in both New York and North Carolina.

Veorah was also a staple in her community. From feeding and clothing the homeless, to holding street services, often bringing the youth choir along to sing her favorite songs. Mommo was revered, and respected. So much so, the street activity and drug dealers would stop their whole operation and listen to the word.

Veorah was an avid singer! As a member of the New York Metropolitan Choir, under the direction of Edgar Kendricks and Anna Walker with Made Records. Veorah traveled and recorded songs such as "No Matter What" and "The Lord Jesus Saves". Under the covering of Elder Geraldine Brewington, she walked in Christ and became a staple and pillar of the church holding titles of Minister, deaconess and later Elder.

After her retirement, Veorah became a member of St. Joseph Miracle Revival Center in Red Springs, NC under the covering of the late Apostle R.L Garner then Apostle Anthony Buie where she was titled Mother Mungin and continued her nursing home and sick and shut-in ministry,



In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Henry Mungin-McClenos Sr, youngest son Henry McClenos Jr, brother Mr. Walter Lewis (Janette), Brother Claudie Lewis Jr (Margie), Sister Rosa Lee Lewis Parker (Raymond), niece Carolyn Parker and grandson Andre Mungin- McClenos Jr.

Veorah is survived by her, eldest brother Mr. Macy Mclaughlin, sons Ronald Mungin- McClenos (Joyce), Andre McClenos (Iletha), Daughter Judith Mungin Edwards ("Willie"). Bruce Mungin and children, Shaquanna Mungin and children. Grandchildren, Claudia Wine, Talisha Germain, Ananyah "Sunshine" Edwards, De'Jon Moore, Nina McClenos, Danielle Vazquez- McClenos, Aisha Jones McClenos. Great Grandchildren Michael Wine, Aiden "Big Ol' Bam Wine, Paris Germain, Aajon McClenos, Aniyah McClenos, Reily McClenos, Asaih McClenos and Lenox De'Andre Mungin-Singh. Nephews Keith Rollin Thompson and Walter Lewis Jr. Godsons, Lance Beal (Debra), Arnell Whitney "Jr" and Jeremy McDowell. Goddaughter Patrice Brewington (Tyrone). And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and spiritual children.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, 10:00 am at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals - Colonie Chapel, Albany, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY
