Vera Mae Mcgee-Lewis

Vera Mae McGee Lewis wife of the late Owen O. Lewis Jr. entered into eternal rest peacefully at home on June 30th, 2023.
Born on 9/13/1945 in Augusta Ga., to the late Inez McCoy and Dorsey McGee. Vera relocated to Long Island, NY, with her Beloved Aunt Gracie prior to settling in Schenectady.
Mrs. Lewis worked for Oswald D. Heck for 33 1/2 years prior to retiring. In her spare time Vera loved going to the casino, traveling, watching and getting ideas from HGTV, cooking, playing Pokeno, and spending time with family and friends. In her later years she took pride in her volunteer duties for the VFW of Albany.
She is survived by sons Jeffrey of Georgia, Anthony (Gabrielle), Omar, and Owen all of Schenectady NY and John of Norwich England. Daughters Lolita, Judy, Valerie, Shirley, and Melissa all of Schenectady NY; Alicia of Atlanta Ga and Roberta of Greenville SC. 34 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren and a host of other family, extended family and special friends. Vera is also survived by her sister Yvette of Chicago, IL.
In addition to her husband Owen, she was predeceased by her brother Joseph, daughters Maryann and Christine, son Graylin and granddaughters Crystal and Dolores.
A Celebration of Life will take place later this month.
