Albany- Vernon Benjamin Stewart was born on March 7, 1988, at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, to Gwendolyn Avent and Benjamin Stewart. From birth, he was very energetic, kind, inquisitive, and fun to be around. Growing up, he loved playing catch in the backyard with his uncle Charles, which developed into a deep love for baseball. His skills advanced to the point where he was recognized for having the "dirtiest curve" and once pitching a no-hitter.
Vernon's passion and graciousness grew from the time he would ask his mother to shine her car lights on the baseball field, so he and his friends could continue to play late into the night, to asking her to open their home for friends in need. Vern was always known to be the life of the party and could put a smile on anyone's face. His hobbies included street art, bowling, poker, and watching The Godfather to the point that he could quote it word for word. He was so enthusiastic about his family and being a godfather that he was excited to become a father himself. His kind soul and love for his family and friends are what drove him to be the amazing man he is today. He will be sorely missed by all and forever loved.
