SCHENECTADY- Vernon L. Strait, 85, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018.
Vernon was born in Schenectady, NY to the late James and Helen Strait on August 18, 1932. Vernon served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, and went on to work as a Carpenter for the Local 370 in Albany, NY, and he was a life member of the Rotterdam Elks Lodge 2157.
Vernon is predeceased by his wife, Marion Strait, and his grandson, Robert White.
He is survived his children, Mark (Andrea) Strait, Robert Strait, and Donald White, his grandchildren, Amie, Sarah, and Rosie, his four great-grandchildren, and his one great-great grandson.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Creations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 10:00am-12:00pm. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY following the calling hours.
