Veronica A. Epting, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Julie Blair Nursing Home in Albany. Veronica was born on October 5th 1924, in Amsterdam to the late John and Mikalina Babrowicz. She worked with the New York State department of Alcohol and Substance Abuse until her retirement; she was a lifetime member of the Village of Colonie Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Kuhn Senior Citizens Center. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband, John E. Epting, Sr. and her beloved daughter, Sharon Lee Epting.
Veronica is survived by her children, John Epting, Jr. and David A. (Rena) Epting. She is the loving grandmother of; Terri M. (Steve) Miller, Michelle Epting, Paul Epting, Michael (Erin) Epting and Danielle Epting and is the adored great-grandmother of Jordan and Carter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Veronica was a Mother, Grandmother, Nana, Gigi, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She was an amazing, compassionate and loving woman who was loved by all who had an opportunity to meet her. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff on the 5th floor at the Julie Blair nursing home especially, Peggy, Tony, Dawn, Joe and all of the wonderful and talented care givers.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central). Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
