Vicki L. Rocheleau

May 28, 1979 — August 5, 2016

LATHAM – Vicki L. Rocheleau, 37, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Vicki was born on May 28, 1979 in Boynton Beach, FL and in 1979 her family moved to Schenectady when she was a young girl.

Vicki was very active and outgoing, and one of the things she loved to do was roller skating. She placed first in the US Roller Skating National Championships at the age of 12 in 1991. She won or placed at every national she skated from 91-99. She loved roller skating and skating loved her. She truly left her mark with her talent and sportsmanship. She graduated from Schenectady High School – the Class of 1997. She worked as a waitress and bartender at Hooters, where she loved to work with her roller skates on.

Vicki worked as a Hip Hop teacher for the past 10 years at Art In Motion Dance Academy in Loudonville. Vicki taught many dancers ranging from ages 6-17 and levels beginner to advanced through her years of instruction at the dance studio. She also has created many award winning pieces for AMDA's Dance Company where she received numerous special awards for her choreography at dance competitions the studio attended. Vicki was not only talented and creative when creating movement but she was also gifted with creating beautiful costumes that many of the AMDA dancers have worn on stage; some of which received special awards at competitions for their outstanding costuming. Vicki was a friend and role model to many of her students and loved by so many!! Her presence will be missed at the dance studio this year.

Vicki was the head Hip Hop coach at CNY Storm All Stars, Albany, for the last seven years where she shared her love and passion for dance with hundreds of kids. She coached her teams to local, regional, and national championships and the 2014, 2015, and 2016 Dance Worlds Championships. She always taught her dancers the value of hard work and believing in themselves and has left an everlasting impression in their lives and all of those around her.

Vicki is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Ryan J. Rocheleau; her cherished and beautiful daughter, Nadia; her mother, Tommy Lynn Stanko of Schenectady; her father, Donald Wayne Trotter of Wichita Falls, TX; her mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Susan of Clifton Park; her sister-in-law, Angela of Clifton Park and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

Vicki was a sweet, caring, and vibrant person and full of life, she will be known for her beautiful smile. She was so amazing!
