COLONIE – Victor "Vic" M. Carmen, 46, passed away on Monday July 9, 2007, at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany, Vic was the son of the late Albert J. and Irene M. Pitcherello Carmen. He served in the US Coast Guard on active duty and the reserves and attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer in October of 2006. Vic has worked for Union College in Schenectady as an Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance Officer for the past 20 years. He also worked part-time for the Village of Colonie in security under DPW. His hobby was model trains.
Vic is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Rhonda K. Hartley Carmen; his son, Christopher M. Ciota; his golden retriever, Brodie; his father-in-law, Vinton Hartley; sisters-in-law, Jill Trier and Sherry Hartley and two nephews. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Phyllis Hartley.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon – Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
