Victor J. Rivers

ALBANY, NY – Victor J. "Sonny" Rivers, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2008, after a long illness. Born in Ellenburg Depot, NY, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Norma Rivers. Mr. Rivers was an Albany resident for most of his life. Sonny served in the Army National Guard for ten years. Mr. Rivers was a heavy equipment operator for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Sonny is the beloved husband of 43 years to Beatrice Brown Rivers. He is the brother of Ronald (Gloria), Larry (Maggie), Lyle (Rhonda), Jimmy (Linda) and Glenn (Francine) Rivers, Marie Drucker and the late Wilfred and Lloyd Rivers and Janice Olmstead. Sonny is the brother-in-law of Bertha Brown and Stanley Brown. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
