CLARKSVILLE- Victoria E. (Sheehan) Dawson, 57, passed away at home on April 16, 2022 after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer.
Vicki was born in Albany, the youngest child of the late Thomas and Marilyn Sheehan. She was a 1982 graduate of Albany High School. She was a 30 year employee of New York State, starting her career with the Department of Taxation and Finance and then with the Office of Information Technology. She retired in July of 2019.
Vicki loved to go camping in her younger days with family and friends at Thompsons Lake. She also loved hanging with the fishing crew on Schroon Lake. She was a volunteer at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, being able to witness the "Miracle on Ice." She was an amazing cook, baker and gardener often sharing her "goodies" with everyone. She loved watching NFL football on Sundays and was a huge fan of the New York Giants often shouting "Go Blue."
Vicki is survived by her loving husband, Dave Dawson; her children: Megan Karl of Clarksville, Monica Karl of Albany, Samantha (Zack) Cass of Clarksville, Scott Dawson of California and Joe (Melinda) Dawson of Voorheesville. She was MeMa to her grandchildren: Shayna, Miya, Kaiden, Lilly, Nicholas, Phoebe, Aurora, Scott, Hunter, Jacob, Evan, Finn and Charlie. She is also survived by her brother Christopher (Angel) Sheehan and her sister Lisa (Bob) Burns, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She leaves behind her two dear BFF's: Mary Ellen (MareMare) Hoffman and Mary Welch-Burgess to carry on the shenanigans without her.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved brother Bruce, her daughter Danielle and grandchildren Cole, Kelsey and Olivia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Friday April 22, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her Celebration of Life following at 12 Noon. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vicki's memory may be made to the Capital City Rescue Mission.
