Vincent "Vinnie B" Burega, 71, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday December 21, 2022 at Ellis Hospital. Born June 4, 1951 in Troy, New York, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Hurlbut) Burega.
Vinnie attended Shaker High School, where he excelled on the baseball field, and worked for many years as a Purchaser for T.A. Predel and Co. Inc. and at Colonial Acres Nursery with his good friend Gary Gillespie. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Latham Chapter. Vinnie's passions included the New York Yankees, vacations with family to Seaside Heights on the Jersey Shore, and horse racing each summer at Saratoga Race Course.
Vinnie was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Burega, his brother William Burega, his son-in-law William "Willy" Marhafer II, and his wife Joyce A. (Sluti) Burega.
He is survived by his children, Anna (Jason) Gabree, Scott (Emily) Burega, Richard (Melyssa) Burega, and Kara (Daryl) Mallard; his grandchildren, Ryan Marhafer, Megan Gabree, Charlie Burega, Matthew Burega, Samuel Burega, Jordan Burega, Evan Mallard, and Bryce Mallard; his beloved grand-dog, Bolt. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Burega and his partner, Joyce Sofologis.
Vinnie's friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, December 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a service to begin at 7 p.m., at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie NY, 12205.
